During the competition for the German Brand Award 2018, Recaro Child Safety was able to win over the expert judges in two categories. First, the manufacturer of child seats and strollers received a gold award in the Industry Excellence in Branding – Transport & Mobility category. The jury based its decision on “perfectly executed brand work from A to Z which is cleanly integrated into the umbrella brand, Recaro, but as a sub-brand still exhibits enough autonomy that the customer experiences a high quality, emotional brand experience”. Patrick Gevelman, Director Brand & Marketing at Recaro Child Safety and the person responsible for brand positioning, adds “we accompany parents and their children on journeys of exploration around the world and understand their many different needs. With our premium products – which impress customers with the highest safety standards, outstanding quality, functionality, aesthetics and ergonomics – we offer the littlest ones the best possible start in life. We do that while providing inspiration with new perspectives that go far beyond the everyday. We call that ‘Excellent Parenthood.’” At the same time, the company was also honoured as a winner in the Industry Excellence in Branding – Digital Transformation of the Year category. “Through an ongoing transformation process, Recaro succeeds in keeping its tradition-rich brand just as agile as its innovation processes”, the jury said. The awards ceremony took place on Thursday, 21 June 2018, in the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin, with more than 600 specially invited guests from the fields of business, culture and media in attendance.
The Recaro Holding, the parent company of Recaro Child Safety and Recaro Aircraft Seating as well as the licencing partner of the company Recaro Automotive Seating, already received the German Brand Award in 2016 in the Industry Excellence in Branding class. During the implementation of the umbrella brand strategy, the responsible decision-makers had introduced many coordinated measures to internally convey a clear understanding of the brand, while consistently presenting itself as a single brand externally – which ultimately also laid the foundation for the successful positioning of Recaro Child Safety.
The German Brand Award was established in 2016 and comprehends brands from a holistic perspective. With its criteria and classes of competition, it takes the diverse facets of professional brand management into account. Awards are presented annually in the following classes of competition: Excellence in Branding; Industry Excellence in Branding; and Excellence in Brand Strategy, Management and Creation. The panel of judges is made up of representatives of the German Design Council and the German Brand Institute.
