Infant carrier Recaro Guardia recognized with the Plus X Award

Recaro Child Safety has been honored with the Plus X Award for its new infant carrier Guardia. The jury of the world’s largest innovation prize bestowed the award on the product in the categories “High Quality” and “Ease of Use.”

“Our Guardia brings together safety, comfort, and design in an infant carrier of the latest generation,” says Ralf Kindermann, Chief Executive Officer of Recaro Child Safety. “We are delighted that this combination was also able to convince the experts of the renowned innovation prize – in not just one but two categories!”

The international jury of the Plus X Award was impressed by the infant carrier’s high quality, which is expressed above all in the great comfort and protection of the baby. The patented Hero belt system, which prevents the belts from twisting or getting out of place, ensures maximum safety. In terms of the design, the experts at Recaro Child Safety also placed great emphasis on ergonomics. For newborns there is an additional insert cushion that allows the infant to lie flat, which is easier on the baby’s back. The comfort features also include an integrated sun visor as well as a mesh insert that ensures optimal ventilation.

The Recaro Guardia also scored well in the Plus X Award due to its easy handling: At just 4.1 kilograms, it is one of the most lightweight infant carriers on the market. And it’s not just its low weight that makes the product easy to transport. The ergonomic handle also makes carrying more comfortable: The sun canopy is separately attached so that the carrying handle of the infant carrier lies pleasantly in one’s hand or the crook of one’s arm.

In addition, the Guardia convinced the panel by its ease of use during installation in the vehicle: It can be used in combination with the appropriate Isofix base as well as fastened with the vehicle belt. Operating elements in contrasting colors make it easier for parents to handle. Simple and convenient, the Guardia can also be combined with other products such as the Recaro strollers Easylife and Citylife. In addition, the infant carrier supports parents on long-distance trips – when changing from car to plane, for example: during boarding, the child can remain in the infant carrier, since the Guardia is approved to be taken into aircraft cabins.

Recaro Child Safety was already awarded the prestigious Plus X Award for the infant carrier Privia in 2015/16. With an international and independent jury of experts from 27 industries, 22 strategic partners and more than 600 participating brands, the award is now the world’s largest innovation prize for technology, sport, and lifestyle. The award recognizes newly developed and innovative technologies, exceptional design, and intelligent and simple operating concepts.
